At ActualMeds, our commitment to our mission is strong – and it’s made even stronger by the people who drive it forward every day. Kevin Kucera, Pharm.D., our Pharmacist on Demand (POD) Lead, is one of those people.
Kevin's role sits at the intersection of clinical pharmacy and technology. No two days look the same. He might be collaborating with teammates, supporting customers, working with the development team on product improvements, or exploring new ways to make a positive impact on patient lives. For Kevin, that variety is part of what makes the work energizing.
What drew Kevin to ActualMeds was the chance to combine his clinical pharmacy background with technology to solve real healthcare problems. "Medication management is incredibly important, especially for seniors and patients with complex medical needs," he says. "I saw how technology could help make care safer and more effective."
What's kept him here is simpler: the people. He describes a team that genuinely cares, with a culture of innovation and a shared willingness to tackle hard problems.
Being part of a company with more than 20 years in the medication adherence space is something Kevin takes seriously. He knows that medication management grows more complex as patients move between care settings. Every workflow improvement and every problem solved has the potential to positively affect patients, caregivers, pharmacists, and providers alike.
One experience that reinforced this was analyzing medications unintentionally omitted during care transitions. Seeing how often critical therapies were missed as patients moved between hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities reinforced a belief he holds deeply: every clinician should have the most complete, accurate picture of a patient — no matter where that patient is receiving care.
Outside of work, Kevin is a family man who loves getting outdoors. He's an avid fly fisherman who finds time on the water restorative. He's also a passionate homebrewer who has taken the hobby well beyond the basics, developing his own recipes from scratch and experimenting with unique ingredients.
We're thrilled to have Kevin on the ActualMeds team. His clinical insight, innovative spirit, and genuine passion for patient outcomes make him a tremendous asset to our mission.
